Breitling has dropped a colorful trio of 1960s muscle car-inspired chronographs.
Taking their cues from the Chevrolet Corvette, Ford Mustang and Shelby Cobra, the chronos feature red, green and blue dials with recessed, rounded square sub dials in contrasting black. Each of the marque’s logos are printed on the dials and engraved on the stainless steel caseback.
The 42mm Chevrolet Corvette and Ford Mustang watches feature a three-register dial layout with small seconds, six-hour and 15-minute counters, courtesy of Breitling’s COSC-certified, ETA 2892-based, Caliber 25 movement.
Breitling has been getting good mileage out of modern takes on the vintage Top Time design this year, having already dropped a limited edition in collaboration with Australian lifestyle brand, Deus Ex Machina.
The Shelby Cobra watch opts for a smaller 40mm case, COSC-certified Breitling Caliber 41 movement and twin sub dial arrangement with small seconds and 30-minute counter.
The trio are available now via Breitling, supplied on perforated calfskin strap, priced $5,500 USD.

COIMBRA, Portugal (BRAIN) — SRAM officially opened a new TIME pedal factory here on Friday, with an inauguration celebration presided over by the mayor. The city said the factory will produce 200,000 pairs of pedals per year and create 25 new jobs by next November.
According to a release from the city, the new facility has an area of 6,500 square feet that can be quickly expanded to 12,000 square feet. Currently the factory has created six new jobs but plans call for adding another 18-20 workers by next November. The factory also will eventually make hubs and wheels, the city said.
“The acquisition of TIME will allow SRAM to continue and diversify its product line, this time in the production of pedals, contributing to the development of the cycling industry in Portugal,” said Isabel Gomes, the director of SRAM in Portugal.
Gil Nadais, the Secretary-General of Portugal’s National Association of Two-Wheel Industries, Hardware, Furniture and Related Products, ABIMOTA, said, “Over the last few years, the Portuguese two-wheel and smooth mobility sector, with a strong contribution from our Portugal Bike Value project, has struggled to provide the country and Europe with ever greater production capacity, reducing dependence on foreign markets and developing shorter distribution chains. With this unit, we take an important step towards achieving these goals.”
SRAM bought the TIME shoe and pedal business from the Rossignol Group in February. Rossignol sold the TIME frame and bike business to Cardinal Cycling Group.

CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (WEAU) -Bicycling helped him on the road to recovery after a car crash in 2014. Today he’s using that passion to help others.
“40…45..50…55…60…65…66. 466.” Michael Van Dusseldorp counts the tick marks on the wall of his garage turned bicycle shop called New Life Recyclery.
The marks represent the number of bicycles he has fixed since starting in March.
“Once I get something in my head I just go for it, and that’s kind of what this turned into, and I was like I love this, and honestly now nothing else matters because this is where my heart’s at,” Van Dusseldorp said.
Van Dusseldorp takes bicycles in just about any state. If he can’t fix it up, he can try to use its parts to repair a different bike.
After fixing one up, the next step is to give it to someone in need.
“You can give someone a bus pass, but a bus pass too, it expires or buses only go to certain spots,” Van Dusseldorp said. “With this, they have a bike that is their own. They actually own something which gives them that kind of sense of pride, and it allows them to go anywhere.”
This mobility is a chance at a fresh start.
That’s something bikes helped Van Dusseldorp with after experiencing head trauma from a car crash.
“I was constantly in pain, and just laying in bed feeling sorry for myself, and it got worse and worse which made my depression worse and worse because I felt useless,” Van Dusseldorp said. “It wasn’t until I started doing bikes, and I obviously have to ride and test them and make sure they are okay after I fix them, and I started doing that, and I was like oh, I actually feel kind of better.”
One bicycle at a time, Van Dusseldorp said his greater goal is to let those who may be homeless know that someone cares.
New Life Recyclery is expanding its services.
It also offers food, tents, work boots and more for those experiencing homelessness.
