Suspect in custody following vehicle pursuit and standoff in Prairie Grove

One suspect is in custody following a vehicle pursuit and standoff in Prairie Grove. Prairie Grove Public Information Officer Jeff O’Brien said the University of Arkansas Police Department got into a vehicle pursuit around 3 a.m. Monday. Officers followed the suspect Westbound on Highway 62 into Prairie Grove limits where he then crashed his vehicle into a home and also hit a parked car, O’Brien said.Several area agencies engaged in a standoff with the suspect who was armed with a pistol.A request had been made to the Fayetteville Crisis Negotiation Team and an Emergency Response Team who worked for four hours, along with neighboring agencies.Around 7 am, the suspect, 21-year-old Braiden Collins of Fayetteville, surrendered to law enforcement. As of Monday, charges were still being processed, according to police.

Prairie Village police asking for help identifying vehicle connected to homicide

The Prairie Village Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying a car that is believed to be connected the homicide of an 18-year-old man who was found Tuesday morning outside a home in the 3500 block of Somerset Drive.Police said the vehicle appears to be a blue crossover-type vehicle and investigators believe it to possibly be either a 2013-2019 Ford Focus, Hyundai Elantra hatchback, or Nissan Juke.
