Mountain Brook police need help locating vehicle suspected in fatal hit and run

Update 4/21: The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as Jack Henry Moody, 23, of Birmingham.Officials said Moody was the lone rider of a motor cycle traveling west on Highway 280. He drove through the Overton Road intersection under a green light and collided with a vehicle turning onto Highway 280 from Overton Road. The vehicle left the scene without rendering aid to Moody or reporting the accident to authorities.Moody was taken to UAB Hospital where he was pronounced dead on April 17, according to the coroner’s report.Mountain Brook police need help locating a vehicle suspected to be involved in a fatal hit and run on Overton Road.Police said one person was killed late last week as a result of the accident.Authorities are looking for an older white or silver-colored work van.Anyone with information is asked to call the Mountain Brook Police Department at 205-802-2414.
