Vehicle carrying COVID-19 samples involved in I-195 crash

A crash on Interstate 195 involving a vehicle transporting COVID-19 samples is under investigation, according to state police.A tractor trailer and a Honda Civic collided in the westbound lanes of I-195 in Seekonk at about 9 a.m.The female driver was not injured, but she was initially taken to the hospital because of suspected exposure to the samples, state police said. The hazmat team determined the samples were not compromised, the container holding them was intact and the driver would be released, state police said. A spokeswoman with the State Fire Marshal’s office said the samples were en route to the lab.The crash is under investigation.
