Driving at Night: Essential Tips

Driving at night poses many challenges for drivers. It is more dangerous, and the risk of accidents doubles when the sun sets.

Always be prepared for every drive, no matter the distance. Make sure you’re insured to be driving and consider taking out a car breakdown policy. You can read car services reviews to find the plans that would suit you most. One name you might come across is 247 Home Rescue. If you’re a member, you can add an extra car to your policy or a driver by using the 247 Home Rescue login interface.

The essential tips for driving safely at night are as follows:

#1) Take your time:

As we’ve mentioned, nighttime driving is more dangerous than driving during the day. Speeding only increases your risk. Take your time; there’s no rush. If you’re travelling long distances at night, stop for more breaks more often. You need to remain as alert as possible – have a strong coffee and stretch your legs.

#2: Adjust your car’s headlights:

If you have a newer vehicle, it might be equipped with automatic self-levelling headlights. If not, adjust your car’s headlights to point them correctly. You don’t want your headlights to be aimed at the eyes of other motorists, but at the level of their tyres. This will give you the optimum view of the road ahead on dim lights and when you switch on your main headlights.

While on the subject of headlights, ensure your car’s headlights are clean and clear of dirt, and that the bulbs are in perfect working order. If one’s dimmer than the other, immediately replace it.

#3: Instrument panel

Our eyes are extremely sensitive to changes in light intensity. They fill dashboards with bright lights in an array of colours. They can be distracting. Dim your instrument panel and dashboard lights for better nighttime vision of the road ahead. The bright colours will not tire your eye muscles either, as you won’t need to shield your eyes from their bright glare.

#4: Don’t look directly at bright lights:

There’s a trick to driving at night: don’t stare at the headlights of approaching cars. Rather, raise your line of sight above them or look below towards the ground. This will prevent you from experiencing temporary night blindness. Keep your eyes focused ahead of you and be distracted by bright roadside lights and signposts. If an oncoming car’s headlights are incorrectly aimed and shine directly into your eyes, squint your eyes and keep looking ahead of you.

#5: A clean windscreen:

A clean windscreen will not only provide optimum vision, but it will also prevent lights dazzling your eyes. The glare from lights on your windscreen can create a kaleidoscopic effect and can distract you, which may cause an accident. A fogged windscreen, or one covered in finger smears, or debris, can dramatically reduce your vision. Ensure your windscreen is clean on the inside and the outside.

#6: Fit foglights:

In the UK, foglights are …

Bicycle Health Review

Bicycle Health is a treatment organization that specializes in the care of clients struggling with opioid use disorders. With nine locations from Los Angeles to San Francisco, Bicycle Health offers comprehensive medication-assisted treatment that integrates counseling with medications to treat opioids such as heroin, Fentanyl and Vicodin. Founded in 2018, the organization offers “telemedicine”, where modern technology enables physician consultations through video conferencing. Beyond the intake interview, individuals do not need to meet with team members in-person. Medication management is offered for clients in need of dual-diagnosis support for co-occurring physical and mental health conditions. The 12-step recovery model is also a component of the programming.

Treatment and Staff

Before beginning treatment clients undergo a comprehensive intake assessment that includes a physical and mental health exam as well as a complete history of substance use and withdrawal symptoms. From there, the Bicycle Health team determines the most effective individualized care strategy tailored to address the specific needs and goals of each client. The facility utilizes Suboxone and Subutex, FDA-approved medications that reduce painful opioid withdrawal symptoms and enable individuals to focus on recovery. In addition, Bicycle Health uses muscle relaxant medications when necessary. Methadone is not offered as it requires in-person visits. Clients can communicate with a physician or health coach through Bicycle Health’s app. There is no set treatment length. Individual needs dictate how long a client will require medication.

Bicycle Health employs an established team comprised of board-certified physicians, family and psychiatric nurse practitioners as well as health coaches. Many of the doctors specialize in preventative and family medicine. Medication management for co-occurring conditions is available as needed.

Following the intake assessment, clients are no longer required to show up in-person. Prescriptions can be picked up personally, sent to a nearby pharmacy or even discreetly delivered to the client’s home.

The Modesto location accepts Medicare.

In Summary

Bicycle Health is an organization that offers a comprehensive “telemedical” approach to care that remotely connects physicians with clients struggling with opioid use disorders. The facility places a premium on privacy and professional, individualized care. For anyone seeking a discrete medication-assisted program with an excellent team of physicians and nurses, Bicycle Health is an excellent resource.

Automotive industry – Wikipedia

Organizations involved with motor vehicles

The automotive industry comprises a wide range of companies and organizations involved in the design, development, manufacturing, marketing, and selling of motor vehicles.[1] It is one of the world’s largest industries by revenue. The automotive industry does not include industries dedicated to the maintenance of automobiles following delivery to the end-user,[citation needed] such as automobile repair shops and motor fuel filling stations.

The word automotive comes from the Greek autos (self), and Latin motivus (of motion), referring to any form of self-powered vehicle.[clarification needed] This term, as proposed by Elmer Sperry[2][need quotation to verify]
(1860-1930), first came into use with reference to automobiles in 1898.[3]

Fiat assembly line in 1961

The automotive industry began in the 1860s with hundreds of manufacturers that pioneered the horseless carriage. For many decades, the United States led the world in total automobile production. In 1929, before the Great Depression, the world had 32,028,500 automobiles in use, and the U.S. automobile industry produced over 90% of them. At that time, the U.S. had one car per 4.87 persons.[4] After 1945, the U.S. produced about 75 percent of world’s auto production. In 1980, the U.S. was overtaken by Japan and then became world’s leader again in 1994. In 2006, Japan narrowly passed the U.S. in production and held this rank until 2009, when China took the top spot with 13.8 million units. With 19.3 million units manufactured in 2012, China almost doubled the U.S. production of 10.3 million units, while Japan was in third place with 9.9 million units.[5] From 1970 (140 models) over 1998 (260 models) to 2012 (684 models), the number of automobile models in the U.S. has grown exponentially.[6]

Safety is a state that implies to be protected from any risk, danger, damage or cause of injury. In the automotive industry, safety means that users, operators or manufacturers do not face any risk or danger coming from the motor vehicle or its spare parts. Safety for the automobiles themselves, implies that there is no risk of damage.

Safety in the automotive industry is particularly important and therefore highly regulated. Automobiles and other motor vehicles have to comply with a certain number of regulations, whether local or international, in order to be accepted on the market. The standard ISO 26262, is considered as one of the best practice framework for achieving automotive functional safety.[7]

In case of safety issues, danger, product defect or faulty procedure during the manufacturing of the motor vehicle, the maker can request to return either a batch or the entire production run. This procedure is called product recall. Product recalls happen in every industry and can be production-related or stem from the raw material.

Product and operation tests and inspections at different stages of the value chain are made to avoid these product recalls by ensuring end-user security and safety and compliance with the automotive

Why you should pick a car rental company based on online review

During a vacation in a faraway city or business trip, one important luxury you shouldn’t ignore is a car rental company. For some people, a special occasion is a time for them to engage the service of a car rental company, just to have the feel of a particular brand of their dream. Due to the demand for car hire by travelers, tourists, and others, there are a lot of service providers in the car rental companies these days. Most of these companies have a physical address but also operate online, offering varieties of online services, such as bookings and more. This leaves travelers with a wide range of options to choose from, making it difficult to make a decision. However, such indecision would be absent if travelers engage car companies reviews online. With an online review, an individual will be able to read about the past experiences of various clients and make their decision from them.

Why then should you pick a car rental company based on an online review?

Online reviews provide key information about a car rental company

Using an independent online review platform to choose a car rental company means you will be reading about the experiences of several past renters, and thus get access to information about the car rental company. From the review of previous clients, you could know if the car rental company offers to book before renting the car. You will know the requirements needed for renters to be allowed to choose their brand of car. You will get to know if they offer any insurance policy, their payment platform, and other such information. At the end of reading reviews online, you would able to decide on engaging the car rental company or some other ones. Going online, you can find reviews of such companies as Discover car hire which might be more insightful than what might be found on their website.

You learn from others’ experiences

There is a common saying that ‘experience is the best teacher’, but it is wise to learn from other people’s experiences rather than try to amass all the experiences by yourself. A mistake by a careless driver can ruin a whole your trip or vacation, or even create long-term challenges. This is why it is important that you carefully read through renters’ reviews online, before engaging a car rental company. It is normal for some clients to be biased with their reviews, however, when there is a consistent occurrence of negative reviews about a particular rental company, then you should know there is a problem. Take note of the attitude of their drivers, the quality of their cars, the accessibility of their services, and lots more.

You will get to choose based on your preference

As you go about reading online reviews of car rental companies, you will get to see some features that are more important to you in some companies, and then you can choose from there. A particular car rental
