WARNING SIGNS THAT YOUR CAR NEEDS IMMEDIATE SERVICE

A car is a comfortable way of getting around, whether on a short or long-distance journey. Not everyone can afford one but most people can rent a vehicle for their immediate needs. Reviewers on Norway’s online review website, Norskeanmeldelser, can help you determine which rental service is best in the country. Of course, there are popular ones such as BookinMonkey but reading reviews is still the best approach to avoiding errors.

That said, what signs must you not take for granted while you drive a vehicle? Although there are things you can overlook, you need immediate attention to your automobile if it gives you any or all of these signals:

·       Flashing Light Engine

Never ignore warning lights which flash on your car’s dashboard. Flashing engine warning light is an indicator of a big problem with your car’s systems. When your warning light is blinking yellow, it is a sign that one of your car’s systems has something wrong with it.

·       Failures

Whenever there is a leak below your vehicle, it indicates that your car needs to be serviced as early as possible, especially if it occurs from time to time. If you move it from where it is usually parked, you can tell the car is leaking from spills. Look out for a dark coloured spot on the front of the vehicle for fuel oil, transmission oil or brake fluid leakage or something odd

·       Smoke from under the bonnet or steam

No car should ever have some smoke or steam from under the bonnet. Even a few wisps of smoke may be A sign of an overheating problem that, if ignored, would likely destroy the engine. Blue smoke that comes from your car cap caused by burning oil calls for immediate car service because it can be very costly if not early enough repaired.

·       Abnormal shakes

The sudden appearance of a vibration not caused by raw road conditions is typically a red flag. Abnormal movements may be due to worn or unbalanced tires, worn brake pads or disks, universal joint failure, a suspension problem, a flat tire, or steering problem. Whatever the cause, make sure that your car is booked in as soon as you can as it is not safe to drive in this condition with a professional mechanic from Winter Park Car Wash.

·       High fuel efficiency

When you feel like you’re going to get fewer miles out of a gallon of gas and you typically feel the gas tank often, and you are driving the same distance, then your car might be experiencing low fuel mileage. Reducing fuel consumption means the vehicle does not run as well as it can. This could be due to a sticking pad or improper tire pressure and is a sign that your car needs some maintenance before a much worse problem arises.

To sum up, daily service can deal with some of the above problems. These problems can be quickly overcome if found early. Waiting until …

Bicycling in Phoenix | Mountain, Road, Cruisers, Grid Bike Share

Cruisers

Cruisers are made more for fun than fitness. So they’re perfect for exploring downtown Phoenix’s bike-friendly historic neighborhoods, such as the Willo or Encanto-Palmcroft districts, where you’ll find lovingly restored homes—in architectural styles ranging from Mission Revival to Classic Bungalow—dating to the 1920s.

Or wind your way along the banks of the Salt River Project’s web of irrigation canals, where more than 100 miles of paved and packed-dirt paths crisscross Greater Phoenix, passing neighborhoods, urban parks and shopping and entertainment districts.

For those who like a reward at the end of a morning ride, try the beer brunch at O.H.S.O Eatery + Nanobrewery’s Arcadia locale, where bike racks, locks and tools for simple repairs attract riders from the nearby canal path. Or there’s downtown’s Phoenix Public Market Café, where breakfast is served until 3 p.m., and it’s never too early for a bourbon milk punch. You can also fill your bike’s basket with fresh goodies from the adjacent open-air farmers market, held Saturday mornings and Thursday evenings.

Before you rent a cruiser, check with your hotel to see if it has a bike program. Greater Phoenix properties such as The Clarendon Hotel and Spa, Kimpton’s Hotel Palomar Phoenix, JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort and Spa, Bespoke Inn and The Saguaro all offer guests complimentary loans of bicycles.

Mountain Biking

Pack the trail mix, because Greater Phoenix is heaven for mountain biking. Between its parks and preserves, the metro area boasts hundreds of miles of mountain-bike-friendly trails that put you in the midst of the Sonoran Desert, often just minutes from urban centers. As you careen around switchbacks, keep your eyes peeled for saguaro and prickly pear cactuses, spring wildflowers and desert critters such as roadrunners, coyotes and javelinas.

In northeast Phoenix, parts of Phoenix Mountains Preserve offer lengthy, easy treks, such as the 10.7-mile Charles M. Christiansen Memorial Trail, which uses a series of tunnels to cross under a freeway and busy streets. Or try more challenging rides, such as the 4.8-mile Perl Charles Memorial Trail, which loops the backside of landmark Piestewa Peak.

At South Mountain Park, the National Trail follows 14.5 miles of the mountain’s ridgeline, offering great views of downtown Phoenix. For those who want to hone their skills, the Maricopa County Parks and Recreation Department has specially constructed competitive tracks (as well as general mountain biking trails) at Estrella Mountain, McDowell Mountain and White Tank Mountain regional parks.

Don’t own a mountain bike? No problem. The outfitters mentioned below offer rentals, guided tours and transportation to and from area hotels.

Used Cars for Sale in Phoenix, AZ

BEST car buying experience EVER!!!!

by kat300 from DealerRater.com

December 3, 2018

5 5 5 5 5
4.3 (3154 reviews)

My husband told me about Carvana from a commercial ad he heard/saw. I laughed about it and said ‘yah right, there’s gotta be a hitch somewhere’. A few weeks later, he brought up Carvana again….curious, I decided to check it out online. The key words there was ‘check it out’. I ended up buying a vehicle a couple hours later. Yeup, it was just like that. No hassle, no hidden costs or agendas. So after reviewing everything on the site, I started looking at minivans….I started falling in love with minivans….I started buying minivans….all through carvana. Once I locked in the one I wanted, I went through the credit process, documentation process, and pick up date (I chose pick up – because at this point, I still felt a little ‘leary’ about the whole deal’. It was so simple, and so honest, and so real. Over the course of the next 24 hours, all my submitted documents were approved and we just had two days to go to pick up the new mininvan. When we got to the store, it’s not like a dealership with a lot, but it had three beautiful, well lit, very clean, showroom like bays that your vehicle is sitting in for your to do a complete inspection of it. It was very classy. Please note, our particular location does not have the car vending machine just yet. After passing our over check, I hopped in the car and drove it 65 miles home. She ran like a charm and I knew I had 7 days to decide if I wanted to keep her not. At day 3, although I loved her, she didn’t have all the bells and whistles I truly wanted so that evening, I was back on the Carvana site, shopping for a replacement minivan….it’s so easy to do when it gives you results based on your financial settings….I found the new ‘her’ a few hours later. I ordered her up and made the quick call explaining I was swapping and chose to have the vehicle delivered instead of going there to save time. The whole swap process took 2 days…they pulled up right to my house with my next new minivan. In my eyes, she was perfect, but I found a flaw before she was even off the truck. There was a huge bolt in the back tire. I was so disappointed. But Carvana took care of that so amazingly over the top…..they still brought her off the truck so I can check out the interior, test drive it, etc. We found a few more things that we felt should be fixed…minor things. Carvana took note of the items, and took the vehicle back on the truck but promised me (because I really wanted her that day) they would bring her back with a new tire….they kept their promise, three hours later

Arizona Vehicle Registration Renewal & Info

COVID-19 Effects on Licensing Services

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, state DMVs nationwide have closed office locations, extended license and registration expiration dates, and/or limited the transactions they are processing. Residents are urged to use the state’s online services. Follow the MVD’s recent updates for the latest information.

Introduction

Arizona requires all residents to register their vehicles with Arizona’s Motor Vehicle Division (MVD). Residents are also required to maintain a valid registration on vehicles by renewing before the end of their registration cycles.

New to Arizona?

You need a first-time registration when you purchase a car or move to a new state. Learn everything you need to know about first-time registration on our Car Registration page.

Arizona Registration Renewal Cycles

Vehicles registered in AZ fall under one of three possible renewal cycles:

  • 1 year renewal
  • 2 years renewal
  • 5 years renewal

NOTE: Vehicles that only receive a “basic” emissions test, along with out-of-state exemptions, are NOT eligible for either renewal of 2 years or 5 years.

Five-Year Renewal

The following types of vehicles are eligible for a renewal of 5 years:

  • New vehicles that have not been registered in AZ or any other state before.
  • Vehicles registered outside of the Tucson and Phoenix metro areas.
  • Vehicles manufactured in 1966 or earlier.
  • Motorcycles
  • Hydrogen, solar, and electric-powered vehicles.

AZ Registration Renewal Notice

The MVD will send you a renewal notice several weeks before your registration’s expiration date.

Your notice will include:

  • Your renewal fee.
  • Taxes due.
  • “Renew by” date (either the 15th of the month or last day of the month during the year in which you must renew).
  • Emissions testing requirement.
  • Outstanding issues (unpaid tickets or fines) that may prevent you from renewing.

Didn’t Receive a Renewal Notice?

You do not need an MVD renewal notice to renew your AZ registration. You are, however, responsible for renewing your registration on time even if you do not receive a renewal reminder.

If you didn’t receive a notice, contact your local MVD office or call the MVD help desk at (800) 251-5866 for help on how to proceed with renewing your registration.

Renewing Your Arizona Car Registration

Arizona provides four options for renewing your registration: online, by phone, by mail, and in person.

DID YOU KNOW?: Proof of car insurance may be REQUIRED when renewing your registration!

Compare rates and buy your policy online: Open the Insurance Center >>

Renew Online

You should receive your new registration and sticker by mail in about 5 business days. Contact your local MVD office to check your registration renewal status if you do not receive your registration documents in a timely fashion.

Renew by Phone

  • Complete a vehicle emissions inspection, if applicable (the MVD is automatically notified of the result).
  • Call (888) 713-3031.
  • Enter requested identification information from your renewal notice or current registration.
  • Pay your renewal fee using a credit or debit card.

Renew by Mail

  • Complete a vehicle emissions inspection, if applicable (the MVD is automatically notified of the result).

Rural Opportunities to Use Transportation for Economic Success (ROUTES)

Rural Opportunities to Use Transportation for Economic Success (ROUTES) is an initiative to address disparities in rural transportation infrastructure. Specifically, rural transportation infrastructure’s unique challenges need to be considered in order to meet our Nation’s priority transportation goals of safety and economic competitiveness.

The ROUTES Initiative is needed for the Nation’s economy.

  • Rural transportation networks are critically important for domestic production and export of agriculture, mining, and energy commodities, as well as the quality of life for all Americans.

  • Two-thirds of rail freight originates in rural areas, and nearly half of all truck vehicle-miles-traveled (VMT) occur on rural roads.   These industries require heavy trucks that create significantly more wear-and-tear on roadways.

  • Ninety percent of posted (limited weight) bridges are in rural areas and heavy trucks cannot cross posted bridges – to find a safe bridge, heavy trucks hauling in rural areas must traverse three-times the distance as in metro areas.

The ROUTES Initiative is needed for safety.

  • A disproportionate number of roadway fatalities occur in rural areas.  While only one-fifth of the nation’s population lives in rural areas, 46% of the nation’s highway fatalities occur on rural roads, 39% of all highway-rail crossing fatalities occur in rural areas, and the highway fatality rate is more than twice that in urban areas.

  • In fact, 44% of personal vehicle miles traveled on rural roadways are actually urban residents traveling to destinations outside their home metro areas, so rural roadway safety matters for our entire country.

ROUTES Council

The ROUTES Council will be chaired by the Under Secretary for Transportation, which will oversee the ROUTES Infrastructure Management Team in three primary activities:

  • Collecting input from stakeholders on the benefits rural projects offer for safety and economic benefits, as well as the type and degree of assistance rural projects require

  • Providing user-friendly information to rural communities to assist them in understanding and applying for DOT discretionary grants

  • Improving DOT’s data-driven approaches to better assess needs and benefits of rural transportation infrastructure projects.

The ROUTES Initiative will be coordinated across key modal administrations, including the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), the Federal Transit Administration (FTA), the Federal Rail Administration (FRA), and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
