Ride Around Washington | Cascade Bicycle Club

Due to the uncertainty surrounding COVID-19 and an inability to guarantee that we will be able to run this event at the capacity required we are forced to make the decision to cancel the 2020 Ride Around Washington.  We are extremely disappointed, but 2021 plans are already in progress and we plan on delivering an amazing “welcome back” party for all of our dedicated supporters.  Check back for more 2021 tour details by May 1st and we will open registration in the fall for 2021.

Cheney, WA to Chewelah, WA

Saturday, August 1 to Saturday, August 8

NEW FOR 2020!  For the first time in RAW history, we will have six days of great riding but only two campsites. That means only one move day!  And for those who prefer clean sheets each night, there is the option to make motel reservations in both Cheney and Chewelah.  

RAW 2020 will offer four loop rides, one out and back ride, and one point-to-point ride on the day we break camp in Cheney and set up in Chewelah. This year riders will also have the option to drive themselves to the Finish line in Chewelah, where they can leave their cars for the week, and purchase a shuttle ride to the Start Line in Cheney. This is a perfect option for those living outside the Seattle area.  For those in the Seattle area, there is still the option to purchase round-trip bus transportation from the University of Washington to the Start in Cheney and from the Finish in Chewelah back to UW.

Although the number of camping venues has decreased for 2020, the heart of what attracts riders to RAW remains the same – stunning routes, variable terrain, low-traffic roads, challenging climbs, and thrilling descents, all coupled with great support! There is a lot of mileage for those who want it, but on most days there are shorter options for those who prefer a more moderate ride. And having just two base camps will enable staff to enhance and improve the in-camp experience for riders, thus ensuring that RAW 2020 will be a most memorable experience!

RAW is a fully supported bicycle tour with overnight camping accommodations. The tour includes three meals per day; hot showers; daily ride support (snacks, water, and mechanic services); daily luggage transport to and from each overnight camp. Along with professional staff, the tour experience is designed and supported by Cascade Bicycle Club volunteers, fellow cyclists dedicated to sharing a love of cycling in Washington state with our guests. As part of our mission to break down barriers to inclusion for people with disabilities, we’re committed to helping those we serve get where they need, and want, to go via accessible transportation. Through the National Aging and Disability Transportation Center, we help people find rides and transportation resources to reach employment, appointments, shopping and other destinations. We also can support an organization’s ability to connect with transportation and mobility services in their community through our mobility management work. The National Center for Mobility Management can help you identify those people and organizations in your state, region, or local community that could connect you to the most appropriate transportation service and support the development of coordinated transportation networks.

Steps to helping you or your client find transportation:

Step 1 – Identify Transportation Needs

  • Determine where you want to travel, how often, and the general hours or time of day that you need transportation services.
  • Find out whether you are able to use regular public transportation service or would want to participate in travel training or mentoring to learn how to use bus or rail transit.
  • If you cannot use regular public transit or private transportation options (e.g., taxi, shared-ride, volunteer drivers), identify whether you will need to meet eligibility requirements for ADA complementary paratransit service or age or income requirements for Medicaid non-emergency medical transportation so that you are aware of the process and paperwork involved to apply for those services.

Step 2 – Connect to a Local Mobility Manager

A mobility manager is an employee of a transit or human service agency who offers on-on-one counseling or group education on transportation options and alternatives to driving. A referral to a local mobility manager will put you in touch with a transportation expert who can offer information on transportation services that are available in the area, offer guidance on how to find a ride, and in some cases, arrange or coordinate rides. A mobility manager’s job is to take a person-centered approach to finding the right transportation based on an individual’s needs.

If you are unable to locate a mobility manager, you can reach out to an Information and Referral Specialist, an Aging and Disability Resource Center, or a 2-1-1 program (see Step 3 for phone numbers and websites).

    These guys. My favorite. They are honest, thorough, take care of what’s necessary and look out for your best interest. I won’t go anywhere else. 🙂


    Took my Ford Edge in to Marysville Ford because the Low Brake Fluid light came on. They inspected it and told me it would cost $1200 to replace the master cylinder and the brake booster. Called Automotive Inc and they quoted me $300 for the same work.

    After picking up my car and taking it to Automotive Inc, they informed me that he took the battery out, tightened fittings and bled system and everything looks fine, no replacement necessary and a grand total of $84.70.

    I get that taking your car to a dealership can be more expensive, but 4x’s the cost seems like gouging. And on top of that, I had to pay $160 to the dealership for the hour spent for diagnostic which wasn’t even right! I will NEVER return to Marysville Ford and would happily recommend Automotive Inc for quality, speed and reasonable pricing!


    Corey is AWESOME !!!
    I came in on a Friday at 5:30pm with a damaged exhaust pipe. I had been quoted upwards of $17oo ~ my friend recommended Corey when I called distressed over the price of quote!
    When I pulled in so late in the day I didn’t expect to have my car repaired~ BUT~
    Corey said “yeah that part costs a lot of money” then: “give me a minute” he put my car up on the rack” ” said “don’t look at the blue light”. And right then and there he just welded the joint that was damaged !!!

    I had NO IDEA how competent and skillful Corey was until he took care of my car with such prowess! He charged me $28! When I asked his daughter what I could do to repay him his kindness~ she said a Cabela Gift Card! That’s what I did and wrote this review: Because~

    Corey is the best! I received an insanely high quote at another place for my front brakes. I called Corey, as I had him look over my car before. My brakes were done in an hour by Corey, at half the price! He also recommended a great breakfast place called Jays across the road! Corey, your dedication to running a tight ship is admirable. I can’t thank you enough!


    I was referred to Corey by a coworker. I’ve taken my car in here twice. The first time we had gotten new tires at Les Schwab and they quoted us an insanely high amount for a brake job. We took it to Corey for a second opinion and his quote was significantly lower. We had recently had a caliper replaced elsewhere but suspected it wasn’t done properly; he called after inspecting it rather than just replacing it without asking.

    The second time we took it
